Nicht nur der FC und Karneval sollte einem zu Köln einfallen. Schließlich hat die Stadt auch noch den Dom. Und der steht auf den Fundamenten der Kölner Geschichte. Schon die Römer hatten an der Stelle, wo heute die Knochen der Heiligen Drei Könige aufbewahrt werden, gebaut. Dies zeigt sich besonders eindrucksvoll bei einer Besichtigung der Ausgrabungen unter dem Dom.
Will man noch mehr dieser alten Geschichte und Geschichten entdecken, muss man sich ins Zentrum der Stadt begeben. Am besten quartiert man sich in einem der Hotels der Kölner Altstadt ein und geht auf Zeitreise “per pedes”. Zwischen Rheinufer und Hohe Straße, rund um Hauptbahnhof und die Philharmonie pulsiert das Leben der Altstadt, finden sich auch die typischen Kölner Brauhäuser. Nach einer Stärkung mit einem “halben Hahn” und einem oder mehreren Kölsch, kann der Streifzug durch Kölnische Geschichte dann im Römisch-Germanischen Museum fortgesetzt werden.
